ABOUT ME

 What is Sea Teacher?

The SEA Teacher Project or the “Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia” is a project that aims to provide opportunity for pre-service student teachers from universities in Southeast Asia to have teaching experiences (practicum) in schools in other countries in Southeast Asia.

The exchange is preferably for 4th year students whose major are in math, science, English and pre-school. The duration is for one month and based on the mechanism of cost sharing basis. Students’ roles and responsibilities are assigned weekly during the one month period (observe, assist in teaching, teach and reflect). Moreover, the host universities will provide mentors to supervise and monitor the students throughout the practicum period.

Objectives of the Project

·      a. To enable pre-service student teachers to develop their teaching skills and pedagogy

·      b.  To encourage the pre-service student teachers to practice their English skills

·      c. To allow the pre-service student teachers to gain a broader regional and world view

·      d.  To expose future teachers to diverse teaching and learning situations and opportunities, and the          value of flexibility.

My Biography

Hello everyone...

My name is Rania Khairunnisak

you can call me Rania,Nia,Ran

I come from Riau, Riau is a province located on the island of Sumatera

Now I’m pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), the private university located in Yogyakarta City, now I'm 4th year student. My major is Elementary School Teacher Education.

My university has an Islamic background, but not only Moslem students there. Even though it is private, it is no less good than the state university in Yogyakarta. Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) has six campuses, five located in Yogyakarta and one located in Wates, campus 4 is the main campus.

Why I choose studied in Yogyakarta ?

Jogja is a city of students, many students from other regions come to Jogja to study, therefore the Special Region of Yogyakarta is nicknamed the "City of Students" of course many young people want to go to Yogyakarta to study, including myself.

How come I choose Elementary School Teacher Education as the major?

Actually elementary school teacher education was my 2nd choice, at that time I really wanted to be a Law Departnent student (because it looked cool hahaha) but my mother told me to think about it more carefully whether being a law department student was in accordance with my fasion, it turned out that it took a long time to think about it and I chose not to continue my desire to become a law student, then my parents gave me a suggestion what if I just became an elementary school teacher at first I refused but after I thought about it again it was a good idea because I really liked small children and after graduating from boarding school I had taught at an elementary school for 1 year so I would continue what I had done before.
