Overall impression
Joining the Sea Teacher program is the right choice for my future as a prospective teacher, this is the best choice during my college to get new experiences, learn about education and culture of another country (Philippines), at first I was hesitant to join this program I thought about resigning but on the other hand I also convinced myself that I could do it.
This is the first time I have traveled overseas, of course there are many cultural differences that I will face but apparently not, everything was beyond my expectations. It turns out that the people I met in the Philippines especially in Roxas (Capiz) are very kind and humble, I am very grateful to meet the Capiz State University family, they took good care of me and always made me comfortable during my stay (I feel like I want to stay longer there).
My coordinator is very kind, she takes care of me, always asks how my day is going, if I'm tired, I love my coordinator very much. Also my buddies they also guided me during my time there, I spent a lot of time with them.
Joining the Sea Teacher program I was able to learn about the education system in the Philippines, see the differences in the learning system between Indonesia and the Philippines, not only about the education system of course also with the school culture, we also have some differences about school culture, teaching methods, curriculum and also school structure.
Through the Sea Teacher program I can also improve my teaching skills, knowledge about education, improve English language skills, and also learn about the culture of other countries. This experience will help me in my future as a future teacher.
Here (Capiz) we not only learn about the culture of education but also learn about the culture of Roxas (Capiz), we have a busy schedule every day we have scheduled activities for Monday-Thursday we are at school to do observations, teaching demonstrations, then for Saturday and Sunday we have a schedule for our tour.
On September 10, 2023, my colleague Annisa Nur Ramadhani and I, representatives of Ahmad Dahlan University (Yogyakarta) arrived at Roxas airport and 4 other students from different universities with us also arrived at the same time, namely students from the University of Kota Bumi (UMKO), upon arrival at the airport we were picked up by each of our coordinators, I was placed at Capiz State University, namely the Pontovedra campus and was picked up by Dr. Marien Laureto, Dr. Judel V. Protacio, Dr. Jereline De Pablo and two Buddies Tricia Magsucang, Mary Joy Dela Cruz.
Arrived at Roxas airport at 4pm, then we were invited to
have dinner together at Gabriel's restaurant together with Dr. Marien Laureto,
Dr. Mary Ann Decrepito, Dr. Judel V. Protacio Dr. Jereline De Pablo, other
lecturers and buddies.
On Monday, September 11, 2023, in the morning at 7:30 am, we

We introduced ourselves to the majors as exchange students from Indonesia and how long we would be staying there.

Decrepito, and Dr. Fe Mae Laborte at the Grill and Mate restaurant.
On September 12, 2023, we 12

Before going to the Philippines
during the interview, Dr. Marien reminded us to bring traditional Indonesian
clothes so during the opening ceremony we wore traditional Indonesian clothes.
After the welcoming ceremony we were invited to meet the great people in Roxas, it was an honor in my life to meet them, I did not expect them to welcome us so warmly, he talked a lot about Roxas and hoped that we would feel at home while in Roxas, and he hoped that we could learn the culture and education in Roxas well.
On September 13, 2023, the 12 SEA TEACHER Exchange Students program reached another milestone as they were introduced to the esteemed Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VI's Regional Director, Dr. Raul Alvarez, and International Coordinator, Dr. Jimmy Tolosa. In his address, Regional Director Raul Alvarez emphasized the profound similarity between the Indonesian and Filipino students, highlighting that their shared humanity transcends physical differences. He imparted the invaluable lesson of respecting each other's unique cultural backgrounds.
We were also invited to visit the Brandy Museum
The Brandy museum is the first
Brandy Museum in the Philippines dedicated to showcasing the rich history and
tradition of Spanish brandy making that dates back to 711 AD. Stepping inside
this museum will give you a glimpse, albeit brief, of how brandy is distilled
from fermented grapes or fruit mash. The
elegantly designed museum showcases vintage and antique winemaking equipment,
interactive displays, and samples of Spanish brandy from around the world. If
you're a brandy connoisseur, this museum is a great place for you to take part
in the brandy appreciation classes held exclusively and even enjoy drinks and
pastries such as cupcakes and macarons from the Brandy Museum Cafe.
